The Girls Next Door, Pork Chops, and Fireside Chats at The Chateau

What I can I say, he’s a great cook, and she’s delightful company.

That’s Isi and Daniel (the founders of The Chateau), but let me digress a little bit here… I can certainly get ahead of myself very easily.

I was lucky enough to spend some quality time with Isi and we ended up spending most of the day together. I first had to greet her super sweet and cuddly dog, Monet. He’s the most beautiful Russian wolfhound who loves to sneak under your legs and insists on getting all the pets. He’s a bit tall for a short person like me, so it’s a bit awkward and hilariously silly of him to try to sneak between my legs. But, then again, he’s just a big goof ball.

After I got some puppy love in, Isi and I decided that we should watch some “Girl’s Next Door” which we both enjoyed watching when it was on live TV. It reminds me so much of The Chateau and the sisterhood that we all have with one another. It looks as if I am as silly as Monet the floppy wolfhound pup, and I’m okay with that. We began to smell delicious scents wafting into the living room and were compelled to investigate.

The Piece de resistance was truly the lovely setup and meal that both Isi and Daniel prepared for me. For dinner, Daniel prepared a delicious pork chop sautéed in garlic butter with sides of roasted potato, peas, and ravioli. It looked as wonderful as it tasted and I was so grateful for conversation and champagne, listening to IZ, as I was carried away by the entire scene. Truly delightful company.

Don’t forget Mr. Crawley, enjoying his dinner treats, too!

Isi, in her delicate glass slippers, and me in my combat boots, ventured out to The Chateau property to collect firewood.  We roasted in the pit on her wrap around porch and continued our conversation on a Live Stream on Facebook with friends. We discussed Tiger King, Coronavirus, and several other topics as the toasted pinecones and pine branches warmed us.

This image was snapped from the LiveFeed of the fireside chat taken by Isi.

A wonderful evening was wrapped up watching Dr. Who and snuggling up on the couch before traveling back to my home. A huge thanks to Isi and Daniel for being the most gracious hosts. I look forward to more time together with them, with you!

This sounds like such a delightful dinner together , one of those evenings that you’ll look back on in future with fondness. I have seen parts of the Chateau on videos and live streams but would love a full tour to see the whole property and it’s grounds. Perhaps filmed in the style of that show ‘Cribs’ x
